From 5:30 PM on Friday, September 24, the SP38 in the Tignalga area has reopened definitively, marking an important milestone for the restoration of the road between Tignale and Tremosine. The company commissioned by the Province of Brescia has completed the safety works on the side that collapsed last October.
The interventions carried out have once again ensured accessibility to this crucial road connection. The SP38 is particularly crucial now that the Strada della Forra is closed in the section affected by the landslide. For a few more days, traffic on the Tignalga will be regulated with alternating one-way traffic between km 15+000 and km 15+190, until the installation of road safety barriers.
Despite this temporary inconvenience, the reopening is news that has been enthusiastically welcomed by the local community. With the Strada della Forra still closed and no new information on a possible reopening, the SP38 becomes one of the two main routes to reach the plateau of Tremosine, along with the SP115 that climbs from Limone.
The prolonged closure of the Strada della Forra is due to the need to monitor large unstable volumes on the side. The latest updates provided by the Province indicate that this situation will persist for a long time, making the functionality of the recently reopened SP38 even more vital.
