Toscolano Maderno has recently been included among the “paper trails” presented by Comieco during Paper Week 2025. This initiative offers six routes to explore on foot or by bicycle, highlighting the historical and cultural significance of the paper industry, which originated in Italy. The trail dedicated to Toscolano Maderno, titled “The Paper of the Serenissima,” emphasizes the connection between paper production and the Republic of Venice, inviting visitors to discover an often-overlooked industrial heritage.
These itineraries stretch across nearly 100 km, traversing significant sites related to paper processing, from historic villages to museums and ancient paper mills. The guide “Paper Trails,” curated by Vivilitaliae and presented by Comieco, not only celebrates the tradition of paper but also promotes sustainable practices through recycling and the circular economy. This project represents a unique opportunity to rediscover the roots of the Italian paper industry and its impact on national culture.
