Toscolano Maderno has given the green light to the executive project for the construction of a cycle path along the Toscolano stream, aiming to provide a safe cycling route to the Valle delle Cartiere. The track, which starts from the Garberia Bridge and extends for approximately 680 meters, represents an important connection between the lakeside and the historic industrial area of the valley. With an investment of half a million euros, the project not only involves the restoration of existing paths but also the installation of adequate lighting and urban furnishings such as benches, drinking fountains, and bike racks.
This infrastructure intervention is significant for local tourism as it facilitates access to one of the most representative areas of the Toscolano Maderno territory. The new pedestrian and cycling path will offer an immersive experience in the natural and historical landscape of the area, while also improving visitor safety. The recent acquisition of the last built segment of the former Vetturi Paper Mill adds further value to the project, completing an important piece in the enhancement of the municipality’s cultural heritage.
