The Municipality of Toscolano Maderno issued a municipal ordinance on May 22, 2024, to combat improper behavior and preserve public decorum and tranquility. This measure was adopted in response to numerous reports of vandalism, disturbances of the peace, misuse of public spaces, and failure to pick up animal waste. The new rules include fines ranging from 25 to 550 euros for those who do not comply with the regulations, including the obligation to carry suitable tools for collecting animal waste and the prohibition of littering.
The ordinance also prohibits disturbing noises during specific time slots: from 9 pm to 8 am and from 1 pm to 3 pm on weekdays; until 9 am, from 1 pm to 4 pm, and from 10 pm onwards on Saturdays; and all day on Sundays and public holidays. Additionally, construction work and other noisy activities are prohibited in residential areas or near dwellings. This initiative aims to improve the livability of the local community by ensuring a more orderly and peaceful environment for all citizens.
