A traffic accident caused a blockage along the Gardesana, north of Gargnano, this afternoon. The incident involved a camper and a car within one of the three arched tunnels, near the junction for the Tignale plateau. Four people were involved, including two women aged 61 and 71, and two men aged 66 and 77, all sustaining minor injuries such as bruises. The accident appears to have been caused by a reckless overtaking maneuver.
Multiple ambulances from local services responded to the scene, while the relevant authorities worked to restore traffic flow. However, long queues quickly formed in both directions, necessitating operations by the Highway Patrol and the Fire Brigade from Salò to manage the situation. Traffic remained halted for over two hours as rescue efforts and road safety measures were carried out.
