On the first day of school at the new “Catullo” middle school, inaugurated on Via Dugazze, traffic in Desenzano came to a complete standstill, causing significant disruptions for drivers. The situation worsened during both the arrival and departure of students, leading to congestion on surrounding roads and complicating the search for parking. Complaints erupted on social media, with many residents expressing their frustration over the difficulties encountered on the morning of January 7.
Despite the project’s cost totaling 12.4 million euros and the disputes that arose during the planning phase, the municipal administration has chosen not to issue any official comments regarding the current situation. Furthermore, the construction work is not yet completed: the courtyard and some outdoor areas remain unfinished, limiting the space available for students’ recreational activities and necessitating a revision of the evacuation plan. However, traffic-related issues continue to be an ongoing concern for local residents and commuters.
