Recently, Palazzo Todeschini in Desenzano del Garda has become the center of a heated political debate following the relocation of the cultural office to the Vinessa and Ander rooms. The Democratic Party has submitted an inquiry, highlighting how this decision reduces the available space for conferences and cultural events, thereby limiting the opportunities to use the palace for significant meetings. According to councilor Bernardo Comini, the municipal administration demonstrates poor planning and improvisation, exacerbated by the recent sale of the former accounting office.
In addition to concerns about the accessibility of cultural spaces, the PD also criticizes the costs incurred for the renovation of the first floor of Palazzo Todeschini, arguing that the 300,000 euros spent in 2022 were poorly managed. Group leader Maria Vittoria Papa emphasized that the placement of the cultural office further diminishes the palace’s attractiveness for congress events, especially during the off-season. The current situation raises questions about the actual priority given to culture by the municipal administration.
