A complaint has been filed with the Court of Auditors by the “Let’s Keep the Desenzano Hospital on Montecroce” Committee on Tuesday, November 26, aiming to urge for transparency in the decisions made by the Lombardy Region regarding the construction of a new hospital. The Committee challenges the figures provided by ASST Garda, arguing that the estimated cost of the new hospital is underestimated and the costs for seismic upgrades to the current facility are overestimated. According to the committee members, the figure of 142 million for the new construction does not account for several essential items, while the projected costs for seismic compliance have been deemed incorrect and unclear.
Additionally, the Committee denounces the waste of over 13 million euros in public investments in the Montecroce hospital and demands that future decisions be made clearly and transparently, safeguarding public funds and ensuring the best possible service to the community. The issue is becoming increasingly complex, with specific requests regarding costs and operational methods aimed at ensuring prudent management of resources allocated for public health.
