TREMOSINE – The future of the Forra road, which has been closed due to a landslide, is at the center of concerns for a local committee. During a meeting at the town hall, the president of the “Friends of the Forra” association, Alberto Giuntelli, expressed worries about the possibility that the Province may decide not to reopen the historic route in favor of a new tunnel. The landslide that occurred last December resulted in approximately 8,000 cubic meters of rock falling into Lake Garda, further complicating the situation.
Mayor Gianbattista Girardi announced that new drilling and geological monitoring are scheduled for September to assess the movements of the rock. The committee is seeking alternative solutions to reopen the road, even proposing a project to reinforce the existing tunnel adjacent to the landslide-affected area. Activists have launched public initiatives and an online petition to keep attention focused on the issue, emphasizing the importance of the road for the local community.
