It has been twenty years since the earthquake in Garda, an event that profoundly impacted the municipalities in the area, including Salò and Roè Volciano. To commemorate the 5.2 magnitude earthquake that struck the region on the night of November 22, 2003, with its epicenter in the waters of Toscolano Maderno, the municipal administration of Salò has organized a series of initiatives for November 22 and 23. The meeting aims to stimulate a reflection on seismic prevention, involving the Order of Engineers of Brescia and the University of Brescia.
The program includes a conference dedicated to “Innovative Approaches in the Redevelopment of Built Heritage” and an evening meeting focused on the culture of civil protection. On Saturday, November 23, there will also be a guided tour in the historic center of Salò, where experts will provide insights into the effects of past earthquakes and the preventive measures to adopt in order to reduce future damage. Registration for the tour is recommended due to the limited number of available spots.
