The Underwater Befana celebrates its thirtieth anniversary with a grand festival taking place in Riva del Garda from January 4th to 6th, in honor of the Epiphany holiday. This special edition features three days of events, including the distribution of 1,500 gift packages to attending children, which this year will be for the first time contained in colorful backpacks. Among the guests will be comedian Loredana Cont and national athletes from the sports centers of the Italian Navy and Air Force. The event, organized by the Underwater Befana committee chaired by Pietro Fabbri and supported by the Riva del Garda Divers Group, attracts a large audience every year.
The festival program kicks off on Saturday at 10 AM with the opening of food and wine stands and various performances, including one by the Gallicano Flag-throwers and Musicians Group. Celebrations will continue on Sunday with concerts and demonstrations, culminating on Monday, Epiphany day, with the traditional appearance of the Befana emerging from the lake waters at 2:45 PM. Vouchers for the gift packages will be distributed from 10:30 AM until supplies last. The event promises moments of fun and entertainment for both young and old in the heart of the city.
