Moniga del Garda is preparing to host one of the most anticipated food and wine events of the year. From May 31st to June 2nd, the picturesque Moniga Castle will be home to “Valtènesi in Rosa 2024,” a long weekend dedicated to the rosé wines of the region.
The return of this event represents an unmissable opportunity for wine and food lovers, offering three days of tastings under the motto “drink pink.” Valtènesi, a rosé wine with a centuries-old tradition first codified in 1896 by Venetian senator Pompeo Molmenti, will be the undisputed protagonist of the event. This wine has now achieved a recognized status of excellence internationally, as evidenced by the recent collaboration between Valtènesi and Provence to promote rosé wines in the German, Dutch, and Belgian markets through the Rosé Connection project.
The event will feature the participation of over 45 wineries from the Garda area, with more than 100 labels available for free tastings. Thanks to the partnership with producers from Provence, visitors will also have the unique opportunity to savor a selection of the finest French rosés.
Paolo Pasini, president of the Valtènesi Consortium, stated, “Valtènesi in Rosa is the perfect event to showcase the natural vocation of Valtènesi for the production of rosé wines of rare finesse and great elegance. We are delighted to once again host our French cousins from Provence, with whom we continue our international collaboration to tell the story of high-quality rosé wines with a strong territorial identity.”
The official opening of the event will take place on Friday, May 31st at 6:30 pm with the inaugural ceremony, during which the Molmenti Award for the best Valtènesi of the 2023 vintage will be presented. This award represents an important recognition in the local wine world.
For those who wish to further deepen their knowledge of wines, it will be possible to visit the Casa del Vino at Villa Galnica in Puegnago del Garda or explore the numerous wineries in the area that offer guided tours and personalized tastings.
The event will be open every day from 6:30 pm to 11 pm. Tickets are available for pre-sale online at a cost of €22.55 to guarantee access to the event. Tickets can also be purchased on-site for €20 until sold out. In case of bad weather, the event will be canceled.
