On Monday night, an act of vandalism shook the community of Montichiari, with anti-Israel graffiti appearing on the facade of the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta. The red paint used to deface the historic monument featured offensive phrases and a Star of David crossed out with an X. Additionally, a nearby wall of the rectory was marred with the slogan “Free Palestine,” along with other similar expressions scattered throughout the town.
Mayor Marco Togni firmly condemned the incident, emphasizing that this is not just an attack on a public building, but on a symbol of Christian culture and local history. He urged anyone with information about the event to contact the municipality, promising that those responsible will face the legal consequences of their actions.
