On July 16, 2024, Division General Giuseppe Arbore, the regional commander of the Lombardy region for the Guardia di Finanza (Italian financial police), visited the units of the Corps in Salò. During the visit, he was welcomed by Provincial Commander Francesco Maceroni of Brescia and Commander Paolo Zottola of the operational aeronaval unit in Como. The meeting was attended by commanders and military personnel serving in local units, with the senior officer expressing appreciation for their constant commitment to the institutional mission.
General Arbore emphasized the importance of the economic and financial police tasks carried out by the Guardia di Finanza in ensuring legality and fair competition in the market. He highlighted how these tasks are particularly relevant in a tourist area like Lake Garda, especially during the summer season. The General urged the “Fiamme Gialle” (Yellow Flames, a nickname for the Guardia di Finanza) to maintain a vigilant and coordinated operational approach between the territorial and aeronaval components to ensure safety and efficiency in their activities.
