Anticipation for the Final Project of the Brescia-Verona-Padua High-Speed Line
The project for the new high-speed line Brescia-Verona-Padua, part of a total investment of 9.82 billion euros, is about to enter a crucial phase. The Brescia Est-Verona section represents the first functional lot and is expected to be activated by 2026, while the exit from Brescia is scheduled for the end of 2028. This infrastructure will allow for a quadrupling of the existing tracks and will significantly improve travel times between Milan and Venice.
The completion of this line will help optimize rail traffic, reducing interference among various traffic flows and increasing capacity at the hubs of Brescia and Verona. The project is included in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (Pnrr) and also encompasses other strategic routes such as the Verona-Vicenza Junction. Additionally, the feasibility study for a new Garda station in San Martino has been completed, indicating further developments in regional transportation.
