In Salò, water dispensers have recently been installed in the Montessori Kindergarten and Olivelli Primary School, thanks to a joint initiative between Dussmann Service and the local municipality. The primary aim of this project is to reduce plastic usage in school cafeterias by providing reusable pitchers for serving tap water to over 150 children in the kindergarten and around 400 students in the primary school. Replacing 1.5-liter plastic bottles marks a significant step towards a more sustainable cafeteria.
The initiative not only seeks to lessen environmental impact but also aims to educate students about the importance of proper daily hydration. Staying adequately hydrated is essential for the physical and cognitive well-being of children, enhancing concentration and promoting healthy development. Dussmann Service thus intends to encourage healthy eating habits among young people by ensuring that water is always available and accessible in schools. This project aligns perfectly with the sustainability strategies already adopted by the company in non-school cafeterias, thereby reaffirming its commitment to a more responsible and conscious future.
