An unusual spectacle caught the attention of passersby this afternoon, June 21, 2024, on the lakeside of Gargnano. A water snake, known as a dice snake, captured a perch fish and moved onto dry land near the Navigarda ticket booth to consume its meal. The scene attracted a group of onlookers, including tourists and residents, who gathered near the ticket booth on Zanardelli lakeside to observe the unusual event.
Giuseppe Giambarda, a local resident, revealed that the snake had made its den right next to the ticket booth and it is not uncommon to see it in the area. Dice snakes are known for their swimming abilities and often dive into Lake Garda in search of prey. This episode offered a fascinating glimpse into the wildlife along the lake, turning a normal summer afternoon into a unique opportunity to closely admire the wild behavior of the local animals.
