A **47-year-old** windsurfer was rescued by the **Coast Guard** late on the morning of Saturday the 18th, after a group of sports enthusiasts reported his absence following a windsurfing session in the waters of **Malcesine**. The man had been seen struggling as the wind and waves carried him south, and he was subsequently lost from sight. The Coast Guard’s Operations Room immediately activated a rescue operation, dispatching a fast boat and a patrol vessel to initiate the search.
After approximately 45 minutes, the crew of the GC B98 boat spotted the windsurfer clinging to his board, visibly cold and exhausted. Once rescued, he received assistance on board and was later transferred to the port of Malcesine, where friends who had raised the alarm were waiting for him. Fortunately, no medical assistance was required; however, the Coast Guard emphasized the importance of checking weather conditions before engaging in water activities and having devices on hand to request help in case of emergencies.
