Glossophobia, commonly known as the fear of public speaking, afflicts many people and manifests with symptoms such as sweating and difficulty breathing. To address this issue, on April 13th, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, a workshop focused on public speaking will take place in Desenzano. This event is part of the “Voice On” project and is a continuation of a course previously held as part of the University of Free Time, in collaboration with the Municipality of Desenzano.
The workshop aims to guide participants in enhancing their verbal and non-verbal communication skills. An essential aspect is self-listening and listening to others, considered crucial for effective communication. During the three-hour session, participants will explore techniques for speaking calmly and consciously, skills that are useful both in a professional context and in everyday life. The workshop is open to all, regardless of age, and will be held at the Ananda Hall of the Samtosha Center in Rivoltella, at Via Enrico Fermi 137, with a minimum of five and a maximum of fifteen participants.
Francesca Gardenato, a versatile figure in the field of communication, being a journalist, speaker, Mindfulness Trainer, and breath therapist, will lead the workshop. Her experience will be essential in imparting the skills to overcome stage anxiety to the participants, following B. Bryant’s motto: “It’s not the will to win, but the will to prepare to win that makes the difference.”
The workshop precedes another important event: an interview with Mike Maric, a former world champion in freediving, doctor, breath coach, and author, which will take place on April 18th at 8:45 PM at the Municipal Library of Desenzano. This event represents a unique opportunity for those who wish to improve their communication skills and performance.
