In anticipation of the World Water Day, the Municipality of Arco is organizing a special event titled “Water Power,” scheduled for Friday, March 21. The meeting will take place at the bar of the inter-municipal youth center Cantiere 26, starting at 8 PM, with free entry. The evening will feature comedian Nicola Sordo and will be dedicated to presenting two significant projects aimed at safeguarding water resources.
Projects for Water Protection
The projects to be presented during the event aim to tackle the issue of water pollution and improve the efficiency of the local water system. The first project focuses on the modeling of the aqueduct, an innovative computer system designed to minimize drinking water losses along the more than 120 kilometers of pipelines serving the twelve aqueducts of the Municipality.
The second project, titled “The Lake Starts Here,” aims to raise awareness among citizens and tourists about the impact of discharges into stormwater drains. Often, pollutants such as various liquids and solid waste, including cigarette butts and paper, directly reach the Sarca River and subsequently Lake Garda. This project has also been adopted by other municipalities in Trentino and the Sarca-Mincio-Garda mountain watershed, as well as by the Sarca River Park.
