A young driver was arrested in Manerba after attempting to flee from a police checkpoint set up by the Local Police. The incident occurred on Friday night when the young man accelerated upon seeing the patrol car, initiating a chase that ended with his apprehension. During the checks, officers discovered approximately 2 grams of cocaine, and although the young man tested positive in a preliminary drug test, he refused to undergo a more comprehensive test.
Following the incident, the driver was charged with driving under the influence of drugs and resisting a public official. His driver’s license was suspended, and the arrest was validated the next day during a fast-track hearing, where he was required to sign in pending his next court appearance.
