A 15-year-old German tourist was rescued this afternoon by the Coast Guard in the waters of Gardone Riviera after being reported missing. The alarm was raised by the girl’s mother, who had seen her swimming inside the red buoys designated for bathing and then lost sight of her.
After an hour of searches conducted jointly by the Fire Brigade and volunteers from the Garda area, the girl was located in an area not safe for swimming by the naval vessel GC A58. Despite being fatigued, she was brought back to shore to the applause of those present and was reunited with her family, who were visibly relieved. The Secretary General of the Garda Community praised the swift response of the rescuers, highlighting the efficiency of the safety system in the region.
