On Easter Monday, an accident occurred on the Gardesana road in the municipality of Tremosine. A rock detached from the cliff and hit the windshield of a passing car. Fortunately, no one was injured, but the family inside the car experienced a great scare.
The incident took place around 12:30 pm at kilometer 101 of the Gardesana road. The rock dented the windshield of a Mercedes carrying a family from Carpenedolo. The driver of the car, a 53-year-old woman, did not suffer serious injuries.
The Carabinieri from the Limone station and the Fire Department intervened on the scene to manage the situation. It is important to note that on Monday, several rocks detached from the cliff along the Gardesana road, as often happens after periods of heavy rain.
The mayor of Tremosine, Battista Girardi, commented on the incident, highlighting the need for investments to ensure safety on the road. According to the mayor, it would be appropriate to allocate resources to secure the road instead of questionable projects like the Garda cycle path. Girardi suggests the installation of artificial tunnels to protect the most at-risk sections along the Gardesana road.
