The shareholders’ meeting of Acque Bresciane recently elected Pierluigi Toscani as the new President of the company. Toscani, who was already a member of the Board of Directors and has a background as a Regional Councilor and President of Linea Ambiente, takes over from Patrizia Belli. The transition had been announced since Belli’s appointment about a year ago.
Patrizia Belli, former Deputy Mayor of Cazzago San Martino, wanted to highlight the achievements during her tenure. “In this year of hard work, constant effort, and full of challenges,” she declared at the meeting, “Acque Bresciane has continued its growth path by completing the entry of some new municipalities and taking over important management responsibilities such as Val Trompia.” Belli also emphasized how the company maintained a positive trend and substantial economic-financial balance.
In the past year, Acque Bresciane has achieved significant recognition for its personnel management and attention to sustainability. The company has been confirmed for the second consecutive year as one of the “Top Employers” and has received a gender equality certification. In addition, numerous projects in favor of the environment and local communities have been implemented, such as tree planting at the Torbiere del Sebino.
The company has implemented sustainable technologies with the aim of reducing environmental impact. Fundamental infrastructural projects have been completed or initiated to improve the efficiency of the integrated water service. This commitment to sustainability has been one of the most appreciated aspects of Belli’s tenure.
Pierluigi Toscani inherits a solid financial situation: the consolidated balance sheet for 2023 shows an asset of 10,398,000 euros, with a 142% increase compared to the previous year. The generated added value has been distributed among various stakeholders: employees, suppliers, public administration, and financiers.
In his inaugural speech, Pierluigi Toscani expressed gratitude to the shareholders for the trust placed in him until 2025. He praised the work done by his predecessor, Patrizia Belli, and the Board of Directors: “I am confident that we will rise to the challenges that lie ahead,” Toscani stated. He then emphasized the importance of collaboration with the relevant authorities and the internal organizational structure to further improve the service provided to citizens.
Toscani concluded by reaffirming that citizen satisfaction remains an absolute priority compared to the medium-long term objectives of the company: “Citizen satisfaction is also a priority compared to the medium-long term objectives that we set as a company managing such an essential service.”
