A 60-year-old man of Calabrian origin has been arrested by the Carabinieri of the Peschiera del Garda Company for extortion in a continuous and aggravated form using mafia methods. The operation took place on the evening of Thursday, February 6, during a territorial control service aimed at preventing crimes in both central and peripheral areas. The man was subject to a warrant for incarceration issued by the Court of Appeal of Venice, in connection with a crime committed between September 2014 and June 2015 in Flero (BS).
After being identified during a patrol, the 60-year-old was taken to the Company Command for necessary formalities and subsequently transferred to the Verona Montorio Correctional Facility. He will serve a total sentence of three years, six months, and twenty days, along with a fine of 933 euros. Authorities continue to intensify controls to combat crime in the area.
