The L’Officina del Vittoriale Award has recently been established, a recognition dedicated to scholars who have made significant contributions to Italian culture and research. This award aims to highlight those who, while working away from the spotlight, enrich the cultural heritage with essential studies. For its inaugural edition, the Board of Directors of the Vittoriale has chosen to honor Maurizio Serra, a diplomat and writer known for his work on Gabriele d’Annunzio, particularly for the book “L’Imaginifico. Vita di Gabriele d’Annunzio,” which has won prestigious international awards.
The award ceremony will take place at the Vittoriale on April 5, 2025, at 5:00 PM, during which Serra will be presented with an iron anvil, symbolizing the intellectual labor required for cultural creation. Giordano Bruno Guerri, president of the Vittoriale, emphasized the importance of this award in celebrating not only culture but also those who work as “workers of the word,” invoking the D’Annunzian legacy that continues to influence research and creativity in the contemporary Italian landscape.
