Six new **trail cameras** have recently been purchased by the Municipality of Bardolino, aimed at combating the issue of **littering**. These devices will be utilized by the local police to identify and penalize offenders who fail to comply with waste disposal regulations.
The new trail cameras, as explained by the local police chief, Francesco De Santis, are equipped with motion detection sensors and feature a compact design that facilitates their placement in strategic areas of the territory. “They will be installed in sensitive zones to catch in the act those who abandon waste or dispose of it incorrectly,” De Santis stated.
These devices have the capability to record images even in low-light conditions thanks to infrared technology. Should a violation be confirmed, the offenders will face a monetary fine of up to 400 euros.
The total investment for the purchase of the six trail cameras and two dashcams to be installed in the officers’ vehicles amounts to approximately 4,500 euros. This initiative adds to the two cameras already in use in the municipality, bringing the total to eight active devices monitoring the area to prevent uncivil behaviors related to waste.
