Six new trail cameras have been purchased by the Municipality of Bardolino to combat the issue of “waste dodgers.” These devices, equipped with motion sensors and infrared recording capabilities for night vision, will be placed in critical areas of the territory to capture those who abandon waste or dispose of it incorrectly. The commander of the local police, Francesco De Santis, emphasized that the trail cameras will enable the identification of offenders, who face fines of up to 400 euros.
The total investment amounted to approximately 4,500 euros and adds to the two existing cameras, bringing the total to eight devices dedicated to monitoring. The Councillor for the Environment, Simone Corradini, also announced an intensification of inspections and promoted a free bulky waste collection service managed by Serit, with monthly appointments available by reservation.
