Spring has finally arrived, and Bardolino is blooming with a spectacle of colors: the 50,000 tulip bulbs planted last autumn are giving the lakeside a stunning charm. This event marks the beginning of the tourist season on Lake Garda.
The 2024 edition of “Tulipanomania in Bardolino” was presented this morning at the town hall, in collaboration with the Sigurtà Garden Park in Valeggio sul Mincio. The event was attended by Mayor Lauro Sabaini, Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Ecology Katia Lonardi, and Count Giuseppe Inga Sigurtà, owner of the park.
Mayor Sabaini emphasized the importance of this collaboration, which allows thousands of Italian and foreign tourists to discover the beauties of the area. Bardolino, already recognized as the “Most Beautiful Flowered Municipality in Italy” in 2019, is preparing to be appreciated on social media as well, thanks to the photo contest linked to the blooming of the tulips.
Dozens of different varieties of tulips have been planted in the flower beds of Bardolino, Cisano, and Calmasino. Count Giuseppe Sigurtà carefully selected the 20,000 bulbs provided by the Sigurtà Garden Park, creating a majestic scenic effect. This collaboration between the municipality and the park represents an opportunity to promote the tourism offer of the area.
During the presentation, the third “Adriano Banterla” photo contest was also announced, with six tickets to enter the Sigurtà Garden Park as prizes. Photos focusing on the theme of Bardolino and tulips can be submitted until midnight on April 14th to the email address ufficio.stampa@comune.bardolino.vr.it. The three photos with the most “likes” from users on the “Comune di Bardolino” Facebook page will be awarded on June 2nd during the Palio del Chiaretto.
