The exhibition “Before the Bondone” was inaugurated on Thursday, February 27, at the Vantini Chapel on Via delle Orne 1 in Trento, where it will remain open until March 27. This exhibition offers a unique opportunity to explore the history of the Trento mountain before it became a sought-after tourist destination, through photographs and historical documents. The event aims to reveal how the Bondone was characterized by an economy primarily linked to pastures and natural resources, well before the influx of tourists in the 1930s and 1940s.
Significant figures such as Luigi Blanco, president of the Historical Museum Foundation of Trentino, and Elisabetta Bozzarelli, councilor for Culture, Tourism, and Youth Policies of the Municipality of Trento, attended the inauguration. The exhibition is curated by Elena Tonezzer, a researcher at the Historical Museum Foundation of Trentino, and represents an important initiative to rediscover the cultural and economic roots of the Trentino mountain. Admission is free, with opening hours from Tuesday to Friday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and on weekends from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
