A stolen shotgun was discovered in a canal during maintenance operations in the area of Calcinato. The find occurred in recent days when workers from the Chiese irrigation consortium stumbled upon the sawed-off weapon among the debris accumulated in the riverbed on Via Moriaga. The carabinieri, promptly alerted, intervened to retrieve the shotgun, which had been reported stolen from a private residence in the lower Brescia area just a few days prior.
The law enforcement authorities have seized the weapon and initiated an investigation to clarify the circumstances that led the alleged thief to dispose of it by abandoning it in the irrigation canal. Investigators are working to reconstruct the sequence of events and identify any potential culprits.
