The MarteS – Sorlini Art Museum in Calvagese della Riviera has recently received a significant recognition from Regione Lombardia, officially becoming part of the network of recognized museums. The ceremony took place on Tuesday, November 26, at the Belvedere Jannacci of Palazzo Pirelli in Milan, during the annual event RiconosciLO!, which has reached its twentieth edition. The regional councilor for Culture, Francesca Caruso, presented the plaque and certificate, emphasizing the importance of this achievement for the museum, which houses one of the most significant collections of Venetian and Venetian painting from the 17th and 18th centuries.
The Sorlini Collection, accessible to the public since 2018, includes 184 carefully selected works gathered by entrepreneur Luciano Sorlini over nearly fifty years. This prestigious recognition aims to enhance the conservation and promotion activities of Lombard museums, increasing their visibility and credibility. With the inclusion of MarteS, the total number of museums recognized by the Region rises to 206, thereby highlighting the commitment to enhancing the local cultural heritage.
