By the end of 2026, Castelnuovo del Garda will finally have its own highway exit on the A4. This important project, which was designed almost thirty years ago, will improve the road network in the area and facilitate direct access to the lake and amusement parks.
The exit area will have a square with 15 lanes, including 10 outbound lanes to facilitate arrivals towards the lake and amusement parks, and 5 inbound lanes, with two lanes reserved for exceptional transport. In addition, there will be parking areas with 413 parking spaces, 18 for motorcycles, and 41 for trucks and buses.
The total investment for this project amounts to approximately 87 million euros, of which almost 53 million euros are allocated for construction. However, it should be noted that the cost of the project has increased in the past two years due to rising material costs.
Bruno Chiari, the general director of the Brescia-Verona-Vicenza-Padova Highway, explained that this exit is only 3.5 kilometers away from the Peschiera exit. Usually, exits are not planned to be so close to each other, but this demonstrates the strategic importance of the project for the area.
As for the construction contract, a temporary network of companies (Rti) has been selected, composed of companies based in the Veneto region, such as Sitta Srl, Paroloni Giannantonio Spa, Cosmo, Mantovani Costruzioni, and Ferrari Ferruccio.
