An important operation against online child pornography has resulted in 34 arrests and over 100 searches across Italy. Coordinated by the District Attorney’s Office of Catania, the action involved more than 500 agents from the Postal Police, who conducted checks in 56 Italian cities, including areas such as Brescia, Verona, and Mantova. During the searches, numerous electronic devices containing tens of thousands of illegal files related to the sexual exploitation of minors were seized.
The investigation uncovered groups engaged in the exchange of child pornography on instant messaging platforms. The suspects, all men aged between 21 and 59, employed advanced technologies to conceal their illicit activities. Among the materials found were self-produced images of abuse involving minors who had already been identified by law enforcement. The provinces involved in the operation include Catania, Siracusa, Naples, and Milan, highlighting the authorities’ commitment to combating online child pornography and protecting minors from abuse.
