The centenary of the Puglia Ship will mark the beginning of the spring season at the Vittoriale degli Italiani, with a special event titled “Set Sail for the World” taking place on Saturday, March 8. This celebration will not only commemorate the arrival of the ship, donated by Gabriele d’Annunzio, but will also serve as an opportunity to strengthen the Vittoriale’s role as a dynamic cultural center. Throughout the day, the Italian Navy and the students of the “Francesco Morosini” Naval Military School will participate in historical readings and the inauguration of a new exhibition dedicated to naval history and the connection between d’Annunzio and the sea.
In addition to the main exhibition, three other artistic displays will be inaugurated in the afternoon, providing visitors with a glimpse of contemporary and historical art related to the region. Among these, a solo exhibition on Ettore De Conciliis and exhibitions dedicated to works on paper from the 17th to the 21st century will be featured. This event promises to attract numerous visitors, continuing to celebrate the cultural and artistic heritage of the Vittoriale while looking towards the future.
