After a series of meetings and inspections, the Municipality of Bardolino and Veneto Strade have agreed on significant modifications to the first phase of the Garda Cycle Path, which affects the northern area. Mayor Daniele Bertasi announced that the route will be shifted from the crowded SR 249 Gardesana Orientale to the existing pedestrian and cycling path along the lakeside, thus ensuring a safer journey for cyclists and pedestrians. This new design also includes the redevelopment of the Rivalunga promenade and aims to reduce environmental impact by avoiding the previously planned construction of a metal platform.
Additionally, a partial modification of the route has been requested before the entrance to the Ca’ Nove parking lot, incorporating alternative routes such as via Europa Unita and via dello Sport. As work continues on the second phase of the cycle path in Calmasino, which will connect to Lazise, Bertasi confirmed that some observations regarding the route have been taken into account to enhance safety and accessibility throughout the area.
