A chase concluded in the center of Moniga after a gang of thieves, responsible for several burglaries in the Valtenesi area, was pursued by law enforcement. The criminals, who had carried out break-ins in homes between Moniga and Padenghe on December 31, were identified thanks to surveillance cameras and tracked down by the Carabinieri of the Salò Company, assisted by a patrol from the Local Police. The pursuit unfolded through the streets of the town, culminating in the New Year’s celebrations.
Forced to stop due to ongoing construction in the central square, the thieves abandoned their vehicle and fled on foot. The car was seized, and authorities have initiated investigations to identify the members of the gang. The events have raised concerns among residents, who were already alarmed by recent burglary incidents in the area.
