On Saturday, October 5, 2024, Lonato del Garda will host a conference titled “Children with Disabilities Towards Independence,” focused on the topic of childhood motor disabilities and the opportunities offered by the Conductive Education method. The event, which will take place at the Music Hall of the Municipal Library, aims to provide local families with new therapeutic perspectives to enhance the autonomy of children with motor difficulties.
The Conductive Education Method
The heart of the conference will be the Conductive Education method, an innovative approach that integrates education and rehabilitation to support the motor development of children. Through a structured and personalized program, this technique aims to increase the autonomy of young patients, as will be directly attested by Gessyca Beltrami, the mother of a child who has benefited from this treatment.
Program and Contributions from Local Authorities
The day will begin with official greetings from the authorities of Lonato del Garda, including Mayor Roberto Tardani, Social Services Councillor Nicola Bianchi, and City Council President Giuseppe Borgese. Also present will be Maria Anelli, Councillor for Equal Opportunities, who will emphasize the importance of ensuring equal access to care and services for all families.
Expert Speakers and Personal Testimonials
Among the speakers, Elisabetta Ruzzon, president of the Pulcino association, will present the work done by the organization in support of children born prematurely. Following her, Flora Di Flora, president of the Nati per Vivere association, and Dr. Laura Malerba, a child neuropsychiatrist, will provide a clinical overview of therapies for children with motor disabilities, complemented by insights from psychologist Marco Callegaro.
The meeting will also feature a series of personal testimonials, including one from Nicola Borgo, who will share his personal experience with the Conductive Education method.
Objectives of the Conference
This initiative, promoted by Monica Battezzati and coordinated by Giuseppe Borgese, represents an important opportunity to raise awareness about childhood motor disabilities and innovative therapeutic solutions. The Conductive Education method could pave the way for improving the quality of life for children and families in the area, facilitating access to treatments that promote greater independence and integration.
