Lonato del Garda hosted a peaceful demonstration yesterday with over a hundred citizens who, despite the rain, gathered at the entrance of the town hall to defend the hospital in Desenzano sul Montecroce. The Committee “Let’s Keep the Hospital of Desenzano sul Montecroce” raised their voice during the Conference of Mayors of the healthcare district, advocating for the renovation of the existing facility rather than constructing a new one, a proposal that carries a cost of 142 million euros.
The protesters expressed concerns regarding the closure of the current hospital and potential real estate speculation in the surrounding area. They emphasized the importance of preserving an efficient healthcare service and maintaining the environmental constraints of the area, calling for an open dialogue among the mayors to discuss the future of the hospital.
