The personnel of the Garda Coast Guard recently participated in a series of physical tests to obtain the German sports badge “Deutsches Sportabzeichen” (D.S.A.), held at the athletics field in Roè Volciano and the municipal pool in Salò. The event saw the participation of numerous military members, including some from the Maritime Directorate of Venice and the Guardia di Finanza of Salò, engaged in various athletic disciplines such as running, swimming, and jumping. The tests were supervised by an accredited officer who recorded the results.
At the end of the activities, the participants earned three gold medals, seven silver medals, and two bronze medals during a ceremony held on the field’s lawn. The Coast Guard expressed gratitude to the local municipal administrations and the Canottieri del Garda for their support in utilizing the sports facilities. This initiative not only represented a moment of camaraderie and sportsmanship but will also contribute to ensuring operational readiness for the summer season as part of the “Safe Seas and Lakes 2025” operation.
