Four boats were rescued in the past few hours on Lake Garda due to a strong storm, despite the weather alert being widely announced by the Civil Protection. The operations took place almost simultaneously in Toscolano, San Felice, Sirmione, and Punta San Vigilio on the Brescia coast. The Salò Coast Guard coordinated the rescue operations, with the support of the Fire Department, managing to safely rescue the 13 sailors involved without any consequences.
This episode highlights the importance of always checking the weather conditions before undertaking any nautical or sports activities on the lake. The Coast Guard has renewed its appeal to not venture out for navigation or other activities when the forecasts indicate adverse conditions, using the weather bulletins available on various websites to ensure the safety of oneself and others.
