On May 27th at 8:30 pm, a public event will be held at the Palazzo dei Congressi in Sirmione, where the candidates for mayor will face each other. The initiative is organized by the cultural association “La Zobia” and the Facebook group “Sei di Sirmione Se…” with the sponsorship of the Municipality of Sirmione.
The candidates participating in the debate are Marcello Bertoldi, Roberto Campagnola, and Luisa Lavelli. The event was born out of the citizens’ desire to see the three aspiring mayors directly confront each other ahead of the upcoming municipal elections on June 8th and 9th.
The meeting will be moderated by journalists Alessandro Gatta and Elena Giordano and will be structured in two main parts: a Question Time, where the moderators will ask the same questions to each candidate with a time limit for their answers, and an Appeal to Vote, where each candidate will have a limited time to invite citizens to vote for them.
The questions that the candidates will answer come directly from the citizens. They have been collected through the Facebook page “Sei di Sirmione Se…” and selected to be asked during the event. This method ensures that the concerns and interests of the community are adequately represented in the debate.
In the days leading up to the event, the three candidates are also participating in individual video interviews organized by “Sei di Sirmione Se…”. These interviews will be edited in a triple interview style and published online on the group’s Facebook page, allowing users to directly compare the candidates’ answers to the same issues.
