Moniga del Garda is preparing to welcome a summer season rich in cultural events, with the opening of the **”Le Robe de ‘na Olta” museum** and a solo exhibition by the artist **Barbara Castagnetti**. These initiatives offer a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in local history and contemporary art.
## “Le Robe de ‘na Olta”: A Journey into the Past
The “Le Robe de ‘na Olta” museum, located on the ground floor of the Town Hall in Piazza San Martino, is reopening its doors for the summer of 2024. Open for visits on Monday mornings from 10 AM to 12 PM and Thursday evenings from 8:30 PM to 10:30 PM, the museum features a collection of objects that narrate the daily life of Moniga from the late 19th century to the mid-20th century.
Upon entering, guests can admire a section dedicated to woodworking, where tools such as nails, hammers, and saws evoke the manual labor of yesteryear. The secretary section displays historical curiosities from the interwar period, including typewriters and vintage telephones.
The first room is dominated by agricultural tools used for grain cultivation and grape processing. Among the displayed items are sprayers, wine fermentation vats, and a variety of antique scales. In the adjacent room, the modest yet charming furnishings of local homes are highlighted through historical kitchen utensils and a table set with terracotta dishes.
A corner dedicated to the bedroom showcases a double bed adorned with hand-stitched sheets, accompanied by period furniture that evokes past atmospheres. This small museum not only preserves simple yet significant objects of local tradition but also serves as a cultural meeting point between different generations.
## Solo Exhibition by Barbara Castagnetti
Just a short walk from the museum, under the portico near the post office, the solo exhibition of **Barbara Castagnetti** will take place from July 27 to August 4. The exhibition features works that explore themes related to dance and spirituality through the vibrant use of color.
The displayed canvases include oils dedicated to angelic choreographies dancing on the walls of the exhibition space. The artworks range from a colorful depiction of three eagles in flight to delicate representations of doves. In particular, three watercolors depicting the interior of the parish church of San Martino showcase carefully crafted details in bluish tones and yellow veining that capture the attention of viewers.
At the center of the exhibition stands a watercolor representing a crane lifting a boat in the local harbor. Castagnetti thus confirms her status as an evolving artist, capable of conveying intense emotions through her works.
Therefore, summer in Moniga del Garda promises to be an unmissable opportunity to discover local historical traditions alongside contemporary art that uniquely and evocatively celebrates the territory.
