Christmas tourism and New Year’s 2024 are shaping up to be significant economic opportunities, with an estimated turnover of 14.7 billion euros across Italy. According to Alessandro Fantini, president of Federalberghi Brescia, over 18 million Italians are ready to travel during the holidays, with a preference for mountain destinations. However, in our province, a substantial increase in visitors is expected for New Year’s Eve, with hotels reaching full capacity, while during the Christmas period, about 20% of accommodations will be operational.
Despite positive signals for the lakes in the province, city hotels are facing a challenging situation, reporting a decline in turnover of up to -9% compared to 2023. Fantini emphasized the importance of targeted strategies to maintain tourist interest and highlighted the need to develop a city Convention Bureau to revitalize the sector and employment in the city.
