The mayor of Desenzano, Guido Malinverno, has announced the cancellation of a scheduled meeting with citizens regarding the Desenzano Hospital, following news of a call for healthcare workers to discuss the request for the restructuring of the facility. This morning, the mayor clarified that he had not summoned the hospital staff, but rather a group of citizens without specific identification of their roles, as agreed upon with a representative via email. Malinverno explained that the meeting was the result of discussions with 110 citizens working in the healthcare sector.
The mayor expressed his discontent that a meeting with citizens should attract media attention and emphasized that it is not his responsibility to call employees of a company. He therefore decided to cancel the meeting, which was set to take place at the Town Hall, to avoid any potential exploitation of the situation, and he committed to responding in writing to the citizens’ requests through their representative.
