Desenzano, Job Opportunities: Hundreds of Candidates at the Recruiting Day Yesterday morning, Desenzano hosted a “Recruiting Day” organized by the Employment Centers, attracting 218 applications for over 600 seasonal job positions. This initiative, promoted by the Labor Sector of the Province of Brescia, witnessed a significant turnout of young people seeking employment in anticipation of the tourist season. Despite the high number of applications, demand exceeds supply, with additional meetings scheduled for May 22 regarding permanent contracts.
During the event, many aspiring workers aged between 18 and 60 gathered at Palazzo Todeschini for interviews for positions such as waiters, cooks, and drivers. However, the shortage of staff in the hospitality sector is exacerbated by issues related to high rental prices in the area. Emanuele Bonotto, president of Visit Desenzano, emphasized that the rising housing costs make it challenging for seasonal workers to find accommodation. With an unemployment rate of 2.8% in the province and a high percentage of hiring in tourism services, this initiative represents a significant job opportunity for many. Mayor Guido Malinverno expressed satisfaction with the collaboration with the Province and announced upcoming projects to improve the local Employment Center.
