Students from Desenzano will have the opportunity to become “Carabinieri for a day”. The Territorial School Office and the Provincial Carabinieri Command of Brescia have collaborated on the implementation of the project “The Army adopts a school – Carabiniere for a day”, which aims to involve students from all schools, from primary to secondary level, in a pilot experience alongside the military of the Carabinieri.
Through this initiative, students will have the chance to directly learn about the numerous functions carried out by the Carabinieri in their daily service to the community. The activities will take place from March to June 2024 and will culminate in Brescia on the occasion of the annual commemoration of the founding of the Carabinieri on June 5th.
Several representative schools from across the province will be involved, one for each territorial area. The participating schools, of different levels and study fields, will have the opportunity to take part in a working day alongside the Carabinieri at the local station or with specialized units such as the NAS (Anti-Adulteration and Health Protection Unit) and the Carabinieri Forestali (Forest Rangers).
The initiative has been made possible thanks to the availability of the Territorial School Office, which considers these opportunities for meeting and mutual understanding between young people and law enforcement forces to be fundamental. It is a way to reinforce the message that legality, mutual respect, and security are shared and fundamental values for a solidary, inclusive, and participatory society.
