Staff from the Road Management Service and the Geological Service of the Autonomous Province of Trento are working to reopen the 249 Gardesana Orientale state road as soon as possible, which was closed due to a landslide that occurred late last night. The landslide occurred in the Tempesta area, on the stretch of road between Torbole and Malcesine.
Fortunately, no people or vehicles were involved in the event, but the road has been closed in both directions. Currently, stability checks on the wall have been completed and work is underway to remove the material from the roadway and consolidate the surrounding area.
The goal is to reopen the road with alternating one-way traffic during the day, provided that safety conditions allow it. The staff is doing everything possible to restore traffic along this important road that connects several locations on Lake Garda.
The 249 Gardesana Orientale state road is one of the main communication routes along the eastern shore of the lake and is heavily used by residents and tourists. Its closure can cause significant inconvenience for those who need to travel along this route.
