Recently, significant news has emerged regarding the Garda wastewater treatment plant, with confirmation that Brescia will also benefit from its share of the 100 million euros allocated by the Ministry of the Environment for the completion of the connection works. The Ato of Brescia has received assurances that the funds will be distributed based on the actual needs of both shores, contrary to what was suggested during a meeting in Peschiera. The president of Ato, Paolo Bonardi, clarified that the allocation will follow established criteria, thereby ensuring a fair distribution of resources.
While work on the Veronese shore is progressing rapidly, the projects in Brescia have shown a slower pace. However, it is anticipated that the new tranche of funding could favor Brescia more, given the lower demand from Verona for the completion of the works. The final design has been restarted and will need to undergo the necessary environmental assessments before the final allocation of funds, which can be accounted for until 2031.
