A dramatic explosion rocked the community of Riva del Garda on the morning of Sunday, July 14, resulting in the death of 91-year-old Renato Grossi. The incident, which occurred around 10:30 a.m. on Via Marone, was caused by a gas leak that generated a powerful blast inside his home.
Authorities are still investigating to better understand the dynamics of the incident. At the time of the tragedy, Grossi was in the kitchen when the explosion caught him by surprise. The noise was so intense that it alarmed the entire neighborhood and caused minor damage to the windows of nearby homes.
Immediate intervention by the authorities was carried out at the scene of the incident, with the volunteer firefighters of Riva del Garda, along with medical personnel who arrived by helicopter, responding promptly.
